THE FLAC :
FLAC was founded the day after the 'Anti-Bullfighting Conference', which took place in April 1993 in Béziers.
A large number of Societies for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals joined forces to create a specialise dinstitution devoted to the eradication of bullfighting in the Spanish and Portuguese tradition.
These societies determined to fight against all forms of cruelty, directed at human beings as well as animals, and that both endeavours, far from being in opposition, were complementary, the basic principle underlying their conviction being that humans and animals have an equal right to our planet Earth and must live side by side peacefully.
Furthermore, although death is inevitable, cruelty, suffering and deliberately inflicted death are intolerable, all the more so when it is forprofit and entertainment.
FLAC aims to inform the public about bullfighting in an accurate and objective manner, thus counterbalancing the media's biased reports, andgiving everyone the opportunity to voice their opposition, something which has been impossible so far.
FLAC denounces the false idea that some forms of violence are'normal', and the fact that very young children are trained to inflict violence in Bullfighting Schools.
FLAC denounces the activities of a very small minority of profiteers who are heavily subsidised with the taxpayer's money. Bullfighting is an unacceptable practise, which today's morality makes totally indefensible. Thus, in the long run, FLAC aims to achieve its abolition
